Travel + Lifestyle Editorial

I STARTED IN PRINT AND WILL ALWAYS MISS IT.
BACK THEN, I DID A LOT OF TRAVEL AND LIFESTYLE WRITING—AND EDITING OF CONSUMER MAGAZINES AND SUPPLEMENTS, TOO.

As editor in chief of Washington Flyer, I landed an original cover interview with activist Leo DiCaprio for our first-ever "Green" Issue a month before he appeared on Vanity Fair's cover with the very same theme.

I edited this special editorial supplement for Condé Nast to celebrate The Fragrance Foundation.

At Condé Nast in London, I worked as an editor at large. In addition to writing city-themed content, I also edited three stand-alone supplements on the public artworks of Canary Wharf.

As corporate copy director of Condé Nast Media Group, I edited one-off, 100% editorial supplements that were polybagged with subscriber issues of up to 17 Condé Nast titles, including Vogue, GQ, and The New Yorker. CitySource was a travel guide to seven world-class cities: London, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Berlin, Miami, and Los Angeles.

The stories I wrote for Travel + Leisure in the Aughts are no longer digitized—but I've kept my print copies. This story covered emerging enclaves in Washington, D.C.

I wrote travel stories to European destinations for Condé Nast U.K. This sample story covered the opening of the bridge linking Copenhagen, Denmark, to Malmo, Sweden.

I edited this special editorial supplement for Condé Nast, which had two versions covering Italian design and travel. This version was mailed with subscriber copies of GQ and Vanity Fair magazines. Click here to view interior pages.

When I was editor in chief of Washington Flyer, Frommer's approached me and asked if I would pen the ultimate day-to-day travel guide to the Nation's Capital.

I coined this travel story my "California Balcony Tour"—my guide for how to travel with small children, tuck them into bed in the hotel room, then hang out on the balcony, door ajar, drinking wine with your partner in the warm evening breeze.
